This year the Dance Section celebrates 24 years of being an active section of the Kamo Club. In the beginning rock ‘n’ roll was the popular dance but now there are so many dances available to learn.
Line dancing is very popular for many reasons and lessons at the Kamo Club are on Wednesdays starting at 4:15 pm for beginners, through to the more advanced until 7:00 pm. There are also lessons on Thursday mornings at 10:00 am for beginners. Contact Rhonda Wilson for more details on 022 378 5895.
Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm onwards is our club night, we often have different types of lessons from 7:00 pm to 7:45 pm and then general dancing until 9:00 pm.
The first Wednesday of the month is a band night, playing from 7t:00 pm to 9:30 pm. There is a door charge of $5 and we run raffles as well.
The Dance Section holds two big weekends of music a year, usually April, ‘Fall into Fall’ and October, ‘Spring Fever’.
The Kamo Club also has bands and shows, usually twice a month and a ball in August.
The Section is supported by raffles run at the Club twice a year and on our band nights.
